Modern-Day Colonization: A Look at the US claim over Gaza and Global Politics

History has shown us that the powerful often use force to take what does not belong to them. The recent discussions between President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the Gaza Strip bring this issue to the forefront once again. The idea that the United States could claim ownership over Gaza raises serious concerns about sovereignty, legality, and justice.

A Historical Perspective

In 1948, the establishment of Israel resulted in the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homeland. This event, known as the Nakba (meaning "catastrophe" in Arabic), saw mass expulsions, destruction of villages, and the beginning of a decades-long conflict. This was not simply a territorial dispute but an act of colonial expansion that led to the suffering of an entire population.

Since then, Palestinians have faced continued displacement, military occupation, and violence. The world has watched as the Gaza Strip has become one of the most densely populated and devastated regions on the planet. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has been described by the United Nations as unsustainable, with millions living under siege-like conditions.

The Question of Legitimacy

When President Trump stated in a press conference that the U.S. could "own" Gaza and transform it into "the Riviera of the Middle East," it sparked global outrage. Many nations within the United Nations, including Arab countries, condemned such rhetoric as a violation of international law. The concept of one nation forcibly taking over another's land is widely regarded as colonialism, a practice that the world has worked to dismantle since the mid-20th century.

If illegal immigration is a concern for the U.S., as Mr. Trump emphasized during his administration when implementing strict border policies, then how can one justify the continued forced displacement of Palestinians from their homeland? The contradiction is clear: if one group is deemed "illegal" for crossing borders, why is another group permitted to seize land that historically belongs to others? This is the very definition of hypocrisy.

The Unchanging Political Agenda

While political parties in the U.S. often campaign on different platforms, their foreign policies, especially regarding Israel and Palestine, tend to remain the same. Before Mr. Trump, former President Joe Biden did not stop the bombings of Palestinian civilians, including women and children. This raises the question: Is there a larger, pre-planned agenda at play? If so, who holds these actions accountable?

The issue goes beyond partisan politics. Whether it is a Republican or Democrat in office, the U.S. continues to support Israel’s expansionist policies. If justice is not a priority in governance, then history warns us that such systems will eventually collapse. The Roman Empire, the British Empire, and others fell due to their overreach and unjust actions. Could we be witnessing the early signs of the same fate?

The War of Armageddon: Truth vs. Falsehood

As the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan have taught, the ultimate battle is not just fought with weapons but with truth against falsehood.

The War of Armageddon is already on. The hottest part of the war is yet to come, but the War of Armageddon, as the Honorable Elijah Muhammad taught us, starts with truth clashing against falsehood, because it is falsehood and ignorance that has kept us in a grave, deathlike state. The presence of truth is what is upsetting the world of Satan. -The Honorable Minister Farrakhan-

The global crisis in Gaza is an example of how misinformation, propaganda, and historical distortions are used to justify oppression. It is ignorance that keeps people blind to the realities of power and control.

The question remains: will the world recognize this injustice and take a stand, or will we continue to allow history to repeat itself? If history teaches us anything, it is that no empire, no matter how powerful, can stand forever if it is built on injustice.
