Why the Black Community Should Build Friendships in All Walks of Life for Economic Opportunities

In today's world, the Black community must think beyond borders and expand its reach on a global scale. Many countries, especially in Africa, offer dual citizenship and economic opportunities for those seeking to build business and personal connections. Those who have found success often credit global networking, business ownership, and forming relationships with diverse individuals as key factors in their growth.

By forming friendships across various backgrounds, we gain knowledge, opportunities, and access to valuable resources. Many regions around the world actively welcome talented individuals, offering incentives for expansion and business growth. Establishing these connections ensures that no matter where we go, we can build strong friendships and find support.

To further explore this topic, contributing supporters of BLXCR and business owners Brother Shaka X Greene of "Bravo Zulu Chess Academy", Brother Thomas 6X of "Rep My Kitchen Catering", and Brother Steve P., lovingly known as "The Hulk," shared their perspectives on why friendships across all walks of life are essential.

Brother Shaka X Greene’s Perspective:

"I can bear witness that having friendships in ALL walks of life is essential to one's survival and success. I have friends who are professionals that have connected me with opportunities when I needed help. I have friends in government who guided me in starting my business when I didn’t know where to begin. I have friends who are educators who have mentored, taught, and even babysat my children at discounted rates. I have friends who are former tier-one operators who train with me, inspire me, and push me to grow.

We cannot navigate this world alone. We need friends, companions, and teammates. Without these supports, it is only a matter of time before we struggle or fall. Having a network of friends in various fields allows us to uplift each other and open doors that might otherwise remain closed."

Brother Thomas 6X’s Perspective:

"Why do we need friendships in all walks of life?

The answer is simple. We, as Black people—particularly those of us born and raised in America—are the only group of people without a country or land to return to or claim as our own. Every other community has strong ties to their homeland and can build commerce, trade, and business connections with their native countries. When immigrants come to America, they often have access to loans, grants, and opportunities through these connections. However, we were never raised to be landowners, business owners, or entrepreneurs. We were raised to be in servitude, not to be citizens who actively build wealth.

For this reason, it is crucial that we develop friendships in all walks of life. How else will we find those who sympathize with our plight? How else will we build trade, commerce, and networks that empower us? By forming meaningful connections with people from different backgrounds, we can break free from limitations and open doors for our community."

Brother Steve P. (The Hulk) Perspective:

"It seems that having friendships in all walks of life would represent Heaven on Earth in that there would be nowhere that you wouldn't have friendship. Everywhere you went and in all situations, there would be friends. And with that, we'd have happiness and joy. Building friendships across cultures, industries, and nations not only empowers us but also brings peace, understanding, and unity. This is what true success looks like—not just individual growth but collective progress."

Expanding Our Perspective

As we continue to navigate an evolving world, we must recognize the power of relationships. From business to education, from politics to personal development—every relationship we build holds the potential to create opportunities for ourselves and future generations.

The Black community has historically faced barriers, but we are not bound by them. The key to breaking these cycles is through unity, knowledge-sharing, and strategic relationships. By seeking friendships beyond our immediate circles and embracing global networking, we create pathways to success and strengthen our collective power.

So, no matter where we go in the world, let’s remember that building friendships in all walks of life isn’t just beneficial—it’s essential for growth, success, and a future where we thrive.
